You canāt have health equity without data equity. We know that if people donāt exist in the data, they often donāt exist in the eyes of policymakers or those with resources. If people are not seen in the data, we see widespread exclusion and invisibility ā people who āgo missingā in the data and whose health issues are rarely noticed or addressed.
What drives me is using data to shift power back to people and causes that are not represented, who are the most vulnerable in our society in hopes of providing a body of data that represents our country.
I created this newsletter so I can share what I know and help people learn new perspectives of how we interact, use, and think about data for good at the intersection of antiracist research, public health data science, food systems, and climate resilience.
